In June 2010, every nutritional supplement manufacturing plant in the U.S. is required to have become a certified Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) facility. The GMP designation from NSF, an independent, not-for-profit organization that certifies products and writes standards for food, water and consumer goods, involves a consistent process whereby products produced are manufactured under conditions that decrease the risk of contamination while providing independent assurance of a manufacturer’s product label claim. We have been a GMP facility long before the new requirement goes into effect. In 2009, we received an Aé rating in our annual GMP audit from NSF International.

Although GMPs will put many nutritional supplement companies on an even playing field in certain areas, not all supplement companies are created equal, even with the GMPs universally in place.

Our company has gone above and beyond the required GMP certification by also earning GMP for Sport™ registration from NSF International. The designation confirms that our facility is certified to produce sports products that are free from contaminants banned due to drug-testing criteria.

Another aspect that sets our company apart is we make most of our own products here at our 55,000-square-foot facility. Even some of the bigger nutritional supplement companies don’t make their products and therefore don’t have control over the quality like we do here, from the purchasing of raw materials to the finished product.

Throughout 2010, in keeping with our commitment to offering our customers the most innovative technology, we will be introducing more products in our new Liquid-Fill Capsules (LF Caps™) line, adding another degree of uniqueness to our supplement company. LF Caps provide a convenient and highly stable, nitrogen-flushed delivery system for oil-form nutrients. Last month, we converted our MCT Oil into the LF Caps form, this month we are introducing our GLA caps in a new LF Caps form, and more products will be converted in the future.
