Feeding the Brain

by Jeffrey H. Reinhardt, MSc

The brain consumes approximately twenty percent of the energy (ATP) produced by the body. To enable the brain to sustain its vital metabolic and electrical functions, plus perform all its vital processing and consciousness functions, blood must flow readily to and through the brain, bringing oxygen, glucose, required nutrients such as amino acids, nutrient minerals, both fat and water soluble vitamins, hormones, plus antibodies and other immune cells to all of the brain’s billions of cells in every region of the brain. The continuous flow of blood through the brain also removes carbon dioxide and other metabolic by-products, plus other toxins.

A novel brain health product, called Neuron Growth Factors (NGF™), contains five specialized brain nutraceuticals, including an extract of the leaves from Ginkgo biloba, which supports improved blood flow to the brain, bringing all of the nutrients and oxygen described above, plus the brain protecting antioxidants, ginkgolides and bilobalides, found in the high-quality Ginkgo leaf extract.

This Ginkgo leaf-induced, improved blood flow to the brain also helps to increase the delivery of the other unique brain stimulating ingredients, including acetyl-L-carnitine arginate; acetyl-L-carnitine; gotu kola (Centella asiatica, leaf) and the nucleic acid uridine, which act together to enhance the functions of existing neural networks and to stimulate neurogenesis, the growth of new neurons.
